Mariah Tyler Moore considers herself a genre-bender; her life has never fit into neat categories and her writing shouldn't either. She is twelve published novels in, with five more manuscripts in progress. Some works were started recently and others have been carried since Mariah's first professional byline nearly two decades ago. Her catalog spans contemporary romance, dark fantasy, science fiction, small-town literary fiction, and more. What ties them together isn't a genre or a plot. It's Mariah's strongest conviction: Radical Resilience. The concept that our wounds are not our weaknesses, they are our wisdom.
For Mariah, Radical Resilience isn't a marketing angle. It's the philosophy she built to survive her own life, and it's the through-line of everything she creates. She fought for legal emancipation at sixteen and now lives as a neurodivergent woman managing autism, ADHD, and multiple chronic illnesses, including POTS, gastroparesis, and hEDS. She doesn't write about resilience and grit from the sidelines. She writes it from the trenches and, as she puts it, the one thing disability has genuinely given her is time. Lots of it. She's used it to build an entire catalog: the Moore Universe.
All of Mariah's characters carry the same DNA. A legally blind designer whose experimental contacts let her see patterns invisible to everyone else. An autistic medical student whose sensory overload triggers astral projection. In her books, otherness is never an obstacle to be overcome. It's the superhuman power that saves everything.
In addition to writing, Mariah finds joy and fulfillment in community. She founded and serves as chapter president of the Sanpete County Wordsmiths, the first League of Utah Writers chapter in the county. She founded Writers of Utah, a free Discord community and event presence connecting Utah authors statewide, which debuted its inaugural booth at the 2026 Scandinavian Heritage Festival.
She served as faculty at the 2026 Las Vegas Writers Conference and returns to the Clark County Library on August 29, 2026 to teach Write Like You Mean It: A Radical Resilience Workshop for Writers. She works as an independent journalist covering Central Utah, a full-circle return to the profession she first entered at age twelve.
The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District has acquired six of her titles, purchasing additional copies since the initial acquisition. The Karen H. Huntsman Library at Snow College has acquired three. One novel is in the Indie Nevada BiblioBoard Library collection.
Her #1 Amazon Kindle Bestseller The Spaces Between Us proved that a book about healing, empathy, and an unfairly adorable dog could top the charts, holding #1 in Literary Sagas for 48 consecutive hours. Lawful Good, Ink & Water, and The Green Donut round out her personal favorites of the Moore Universe catalog.
Mariah is not active on social media as of August 2026. Everything current and accurate lives within her website.

Yesterday morning I stood in the Paul C. Blau Theatre at the Clark County Library and taught Write Like You Mean It: A Radical Resilience Workshop for Writers. My workshop. My slideshow. My workbook. My flyer on the library wall with a big arrow pointing to... me. To me?

Two years ago, I opened a Google Doc and typed out a few goals. Number one on the list? I wanted my novels in at least one library. Longevity and all. Now? Six of my fiction books are in Las...
I just got home from the Quills Conference in Salt Lake City.
I wasn't a speaker or attendee. I was a volunteer and a chapter president, which lands somewhere in the middle of the official-capacity spectrum, and even that felt like more space than I was allowed to take up.
Let me tell you why...
The Reason I Didn't Enter the Contests
I didn't submit any of my work for the awards. I disqualified myself preemptively because I've used AI in my process. Here's what I mean by "used AI." I have never...
